We all should know ourselves well enough to understand that our brothers (and sisters) are just as frail as we are. We should not harbor unrealistic expectations of our brothers. We should pray for them without ceasing.
“Do not speak evil against one another, brethren. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the Torah and judges the Torah. But if you judge the Torah, you are not a doer of the Torah, but a judge.”
(James 4:11, CJB)
Speaking against each other is no small thing. Ya’acov (James) is reminding us in this passage that when we speak against our brother we are speaking evil against Torah. Do you want to be guilty of speaking evil against Torah?
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; renew in me a resolute spirit.”
(Psalm 51:10, CJB)
