Psalm 36

This Psalm tells me of the Father’s love and faithfulness to me. It says that we find refuge in the shadow of His wings. Verse 9 begins, “They drink their fill from the abundance of Your House. You give them drink from the river of your delights, FOR WITH YOU IS THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE.”

As I began to think about a fountain, I saw many attributes. Fountains are usually pretty to look at. I can’t wait to look on His face! I pray that others see Him in my face. Fountains provide nourishment and life in the water that flows. We realize that the water doesn’t get stagnant, it is always flowing. I pray the Holy Spirit will flow through me allowing me to provide nourishment and life to others! The water from a fountain keeps the soil from drying out. As that soil that receives the water from His fountain, we are kept moist and alive . . . not all dried up. We can receive times of refreshing from a fountain as it seems to offer quiet and peace. The Father’s shalom is all over His fountain. I want to drink of His water. I want to rest in His presence. I want to be fresh to serve Him and to offer others His Shalom.

Let us not forget: to us He is a Fountain of LIFE!
