Matt. 5:16 instructs us to “let your light so shine before men, so that they see your good works and praise your Father who is in heaven.”

As I was sitting outside gazing at the sky today (one of my favorite things to do), I was reminded of this verse. I felt the warmth of the sun on my skin and even with my eyes closed, I knew when the sun was hidden behind a cloud and when it slowly appeared again. I began to ponder the word “light” … Yeshua is the light, we reflect Him. He illuminates us with His light. Then my thoughts went to the solar lights we use … they shine more brightly after being in the full sunshine during the day, but even on those cloudy days when only UV rays may get through, there is a dim light illuminating.

Thinking on this further, I began to pray that His light would be illuminated through me. Even on those stormy, dark days – may His light be visible to those around me.
