Scripture: “Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips.” – Psalm 141:3
“Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” – Matthew 12:34

Repentance must reach our tongues. Words have power to build or destroy, bless or curse. Teshuvah calls us to sanctify our speech.

The rabbis teach lashon hara (evil speech) is among the gravest sins. Gossip and slander tear communities apart. Yeshua taught that careless words reveal the state of the heart.

To repent is to guard our words. It is to pray, like David, for God to set a watch over our mouths. Holy speech blesses God and others, aligning our lips with His purposes.

Reflection: – Do your words reflect a heart turned to God? – How can you use speech to build up rather than tear down?

Prayer: Lord, sanctify my lips. Forgive me for careless speech. Let my words bring life, truth, and blessing. Amen.
