Scripture: “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” – Psalm 103:8 “Mercy triumphs over judgment.” – James 2:13

As we face our shortcomings, we can be tempted to despair. But Teshuvah doesn’t lead us to condemnation; it leads us to mercy. God’s nature is mercy. His justice is real, but His compassion is deeper.

Jewish liturgy during Elul often recites the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy from Exodus 34. These divine qualities remind us that God’s forgiveness is rooted in His very being.

In Yeshua, mercy is embodied. He dined with sinners, forgave the repentant, and showed compassion to the outcast. He fulfilled the prophetic vision of God who delights in mercy.

Let us repent, not out of fear, but because we trust in His kindness.

Reflection: – Do you struggle to receive God’s mercy? – How can you show mercy to others as a reflection of His heart?Prayer: Gracious God, thank You that Your mercy triumphs over judgment. Help me to live in that mercy and extend it freely to others. Through Yeshua, I receive Your forgiveness and peace. Amen.
