Scripture: “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.” – Revelation 2:4–5 “I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved Me and followed Me through the wilderness.” – Jeremiah 2:2

There’s nothing more tragic than a faded love for God. Yeshua warned the believers in Ephesus that they had everything right—doctrine, perseverance, deeds—but they had lost their first love.

Teshuvah is a time to rekindle the flame. To remember when you first encountered God. When your prayers were sincere, your worship spontaneous, and your hunger for truth insatiable.

God remembers. He longs for the love of our youth—not naïve love, but fervent, devoted love. Like a bride who follows her groom into the unknown.

Repentance is not just turning from sin. It’s returning to love. To passion. To joy in God’s presence. Let this be a time of rekindling.

Reflection: – What was your relationship with God like when it was strongest? – What steps can you take to rekindle that love?Prayer: Lord, I want to love You like I did at first. I repent of coldness and routine. Kindle in me a fresh fire—a deep desire for You. Restore the devotion of my youth and lead me again. Amen.
