Taking an inventory of life at this time has been challenging, with a reported pandemic worldwide, racial tensions at a high level in our nation, rejection of authority and the call to defund the police. Lawlessness has morphed into unrighteousness. Families are falling apart as the stability from experience is not heeded. This year we have seen the virus like unto a crown, I am wondering if peace has been removed from the earth, and even the famine of assembly, brothers dwelling together.
I am reminded, “Be still, and know that I am Elohim; I am exalted among nations, I am exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10)
It has been so easy for me to get wrapped up in defending what I thought about this or that and be at odds with my brethren or family or neighbors. The news and social media just continued to fan the flames inside me. Then – “Be still, and know that I am Elohim; I am exalted among nations, I am exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10)
The storms of rage and disagreement and ‘see it my way,’ continue unabated. How are we to be those from whom the light of Truth and Hope can shine forth?
I found I needed to repent from reacting to the world and turn to the Elohim of Avraham, Isaac and Ya’acov, and hear from Him. Shema Israel… Acts of kindness and charity and LOVE.
Quoting the Shema twice a day reminds me that in the morning and in the evening the worship of our Elohim went forth from day to day. Here I find the peace from the storm in the world and once again I hear, “Be still, and know that I am Elohim; I am exalted among nations, I am exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10)
I am looking forward to the invitation to join our King in Jerusalem at His House. Until then may His Word be a lamp unto my feet and a light upon my path and may His light shine in me in my home and in the market place. Selah
