Years ago, there was a TV show called “To Tell the Truth.” I know, I am showing my age now, but I loved that show. Well, I had my own experience one day, when I was on my knees pulling weeds, when I heard a loud voice say, “Will the real Joie Conrad please stand up”. Astonished I stood up and looked around. Not seeing anyone, I realized that the Voice obviously was God. Praying for more insight, I had a strong impression that the Father was telling me to grab my Bible and read 2 Corinthians 3:16. I read:
“But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
Then I had a picture of a full-length mirror, with me looking in it. The thought I had was this: How I see myself is not how He sees me. And as I look to Him, the veil (the lie of who I think I am) is removed, and my face (my life) will be transformed into His likeness. I was reminded of another scripture in Psalm 34:5.
“Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.”
That experience led me on a journey of finding who I am in Yeshua. He wants each of us to walk in His identity. His Holy Spirit lives in us when we keep His commandments and abide in His love. I believe He is telling each of us, “Will the real You please stand up.” Recognize that, as believers, He lives in us and we reflect His glory in how we live each day.
