In Loving Memory of Barbara Foerster, Faithful Woman of Israel

Barbara Foerster

On March 11, 2026, one of our Affiliates and long time supporter of BYNA, Barbara Foerster, crossed over to her eternal reward.

Barbara was an integral part of BYNA’s emergence and existence. She was present at all three (3) B’ney Yosef National Congresses in Ariel, Israel. She was at the Inaugural Summit in St. Petersburg, FL, when B’ney Yosef North America was officially created. She participated in many other events such as National Shabbats and Regional Gatherings in various locations. We were greatly blessed to have her with us at the recent 10-year anniversary celebration and gathering in Tampa, FL.

Significantly, Barbara was a faithful attendee at BYNA’s weekly Prayer Call from its inception ten years ago. Rarely did she miss this call. She even joined the call from Israel when she was there, which was quite often.

Barbara was a founding member of the Har Adonai congregation in Monterey, CA; and she served as Treasurer for the covering organization Worship Alliance Ministries for many, many years. Barbara spent more time in the congregation’s apartment (a prayer house) in Zikron Ya’acov, Israel, than anyone else. She went to Israel on prayer journeys usually at least twice a year, often for weeks at a time.

Barbara was always cheerful, gracious, and well-spoken. She always wore clothing and accessories in shades of pink and purple. All of us who knew her will miss her.

Barbara was found dead in her home at her dining table with her Bible in front of her. A true testament to her faithfulness. She had been battling cancer for 12 years. Barbara had a son and two daughters, and four grandchildren. Please remember them in prayer as they cope with Barbara’s departure from this earthly world.
