“If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me, and that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies, if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: THEN WILL I REMEMBER MY COVENANT WITH JACOB …” Lev. 26:40-42
We confess our iniquity and the iniquity of our fathers with our trespass with which we trespassed you, our Elohim, and also that we have walked contrary to you.
In SHECHEM (between Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal) Northern Israel/the House of Joseph arose with these words: “What portion do we have in DAVID? Neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse”. (I Kings 12:16-19 and II Chron 10:16-19)
So, Israel rebelled against the House of DAVID unto this day.
“Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His Shechem (shoulder)”. Is 9:6
“Come and let us return unto Adonai; for He hath torn and He will heal us, He has smitten and He will bind us up. After two days will He revive us; in the third He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight”. Hosea 6:1-2
Day 1 – Yahweh’s Heart: A Journey of Repentance and Restoration
Sometimes, I can’t help but marvel at how Scripture still speaks to us today. Take Leviticus 26:40-42, for instance. It’s like a spiritual GPS, guiding us back to Yahweh when we’ve lost our way.
Let’s break it down, shall we?
“But if they confess their iniquity and that of their fathers, in the treachery they committed against Me, and how they walked contrary to Me —in return I walked contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies—and if at that time their uncircumcised heart becomes humbled, so that they accept the punishment for their iniquity, then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.”
First, let’s discuss this whole “confessing iniquity” thing. It’s not just about admitting our own mistakes but also acknowledging generational issues. It’s like Yahweh is saying, “Hey, I know you’ve got some family baggage. Let’s unpack that together.”
Now, here’s where it gets exciting. Yahweh talks about how He “walked contrary” to His people. It’s almost like a cosmic dance-off gone wrong. But here’s the kicker – He’s not doing it out of spite. It’s more like tough love, y’know?
But wait, there’s more! The text mentions this “uncircumcised heart” becoming humbled. I’m no cardiologist, but I’m pretty sure we’re not talking about actual heart surgery here. It’s more about that stubborn part of us finally softening up.
And then, bam! Yahweh drops the mic with this incredible promise of remembering His covenants. He’s saying, “I’ve got your back, even when you’ve turned your back on me.” (Also see 2 Timothy 2:13)
I can’t help but see Yeshua all over this. He’s the ultimate fulfillment of these covenants, bridging our stubbornness and Elohim’s faithfulness.
So, what’s the takeaway for us today? Well, it’s pretty simple. We mess up, we own up, we look up. Rinse and repeat. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being perfectly honest with Elohim and ourselves.
Remember, repentance isn’t a one-and-done deal. It’s a lifestyle. It’s about constantly realigning our hearts with Yahweh’s will. And the beautiful thing? He’s always ready to come running out to meet us.
So next time you feel you’ve wandered too far from Elohim, remember Leviticus 26:40-42. It’s your spiritual homing beacon, guiding you back to the arms of a Father who’s always waiting.
Shalom, and may your restoration journey be filled with joy and revelation!
