A year or so ago, during my prayer time, these five action words came to my mind: pray, listen,, wait, trust, and do! I believe it is a message from the Ruach haKodesh (Holy Spirit). I have pondered them every day since then.
All of us are seeking YHVH during these days, as we face personal challenges and questions of who we are, where we are, what we are doing, and what we should be doing.
In everything we are experiencing, we should do these things: Pray. Listen. Wait. Trust. Do.
These are things we have all heard. But do we do them?
This is a sequence of actions, but we will probably be doing all of these things at once.
Now I ask you to work a bit. Look up these scriptural confirmations for these instructions. NOTE: there are many scriptures about each of these. I am just sharing a few examples.
First, there is a passage that includes all five actions. 2 Chronicles 20. Yehoshaphat’s prayer.
v. 3-12 = PRAY
v. 15 = LISTEN
v. 18 = WAIT
v. 20 = TRUST
v, 21 = DO
Take note of the last line of Yehoshaphat’s prayer: ‘We don’t know what to do; but our eyes are on You.”
You will find scriptures about prayer throughout the Word. Here are a few of my favorites: Psalm 51:12-15; Matthew 7:7-11; John 17; 1 Thess 5:17; Eph 6:18; Romans 8:26-27
As you pray, LISTEN.
First thing: SHEMA Deut 6:4-9. Scriptural examples of Listeners – Noach, Avraham, Yosef, Moshe, David, Eliyahu, Gidon… and many more.
And Yeshua, of course, is a prime example of listening: John 5:19; 12:49
Psalm 46:10 instructs us to ‘Be Still.’
Listening often goes hand in hand with waiting…
WAIT
Waiting is not our favorite thing, is it?
Isa 40:31 (endure, remain); Psalm 27:14; Micah 7:7; Isaiah 30:18; Lam 3:25-26; Luke 24:49
And, while we are waiting…
TRUST
When do we trust YHVH? When times are hard? When everything is going well?
When is YHVH trustworthy?
Proverbs 3:5-6; Psalm 37-3-5; Psalm 118:8-9; Matthew 6:25-34
Then, the aim and result of praying, listening, waiting, and trusting:
DO.
Here is what it all leads up to – don’t be paralyzed. Be prepared to DO what YHVH instructs you to do, even when it seems kind of crazy!
Scripture is full of great examples of YHVH’s people Doing (obeying) YHVH’s instructions, one of my favorites is Gideon – trumpets, torches, and clay jars.
There is also Joshua and Jericho. Joshua 6
And through all of it GIVE THANKS. Philippians 4:6-7
Be thankful and rejoice while you Pray. Listen. Wait. Trust. Do.
Shalom and may YHVH bring infinite provision to your houses.

Thank you Ed that was a great reminder. I also took to heart what Suuqiina said on day one.
