I have the privilege of praying for Israel at every New Moon in our congregation. Before this last New Moon I made some comments that I believe were necessary to clarify our reasons and intent in praying for Israel.  These comments are followed by our prayer that you may use for your own group or modify it in any way you like.

Praying FOR Israel does not mean or imply that we are sanctifying every policy and practice of the current or any Israeli government.

It’s important that we always approach our zeal for Israel from a biblical viewpoint.   What do I mean by that?

It is important to remember that Israel is God’s idea.  I repeat, Israel is God’s idea.  He created a nation with the intent of being a light to the world and from which would someday bring forth the ultimate redeemer in Yeshua.

So, today, wherever you and your fellowship are, as believers you are not independent nor divorced from that same divine purpose of being a light to your neighbors and speaking of our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

Isn’t that exciting! Just think about that. We are connected to the same original intent and purpose that God gave Israel thru THIS WORD of GOD and His anointed redeemer, Yeshua, who fills the Torah portions that we study every week with His wisdom, instruction and purpose.

We understand that Our Gospel Roots go all the way back to Abraham and God’s covenant made with him to bless all the nations of the world.

As we all know, at this time we certainly do NOT have a Holy Nation in the Middle East called Israel.

BUT we do have one of the Houses of Israel currently in the Land, so that God’s End Time Plan can unfold. That would be the Jews, of the House of Yehudah, who have a decidedly different role to play than we do in this master plan of God.  Their presence there in the Land is absolutely necessary.

As we follow events regarding Israel, clearly God is intervening to cause Israel to remain strong and continue to exist in order for this Plan to play out.

The world will eventually face a judgment for rejecting God’s plan and for its hatred of Israel and all things of Zionism.

So, we pray for God to continue to show Israel His mercy and that Israelis begin to repent from any evil and turn to their Messiah before it’s too late.  We also include God’s Greater Israel, the Bride of Messiah, in our prayers, to prepare ourselves for tribulation and God’s regathering at the end of the age.

So, now let’s pray for Israel, both in the Land and adopted in the nations, and for the Father’s Master Plan to be realized upon the earth.
