“Now it will come about that in the last days The mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains, and will be raised above the hills; and all the nations will stream to it. And many peoples will come and say, ‘Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; so that He may teach us about His ways, and that we may walk in His paths.’ For the law will go out from Zion and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.” Isaiah 2:2-3
We live in the last days, so we should invite the nations to come with us to Jerusalem, the Holy City. The House of God has not yet been established, meaning we have a lot of work ahead to prepare for the time when the nations will come streaming into Jerusalem. But we can begin by inviting those from the nations to come and experience Jerusalem as it it today. When people from the nation begin flocking to Jerusalem, showing their love for God’s city, God will take note, and so will the rest of the world! When tourism to Israel explodes on a massive scale, all because people want to be in the city of the great King, then the world will take notice! We need a grassroots movement of people saying to one another, “Come, let’s go up!” We need Jerusalem to become a praise in all the earth. We need the word of the Lord to go forth from Jerusalem, and we need the God of Jacob in Jerusalem to teach us His ways! Do we seriously think we can take a shortcut to redemption? The answer is no! So, we need to invite our friends and family to Jerusalem, for as it says in Isaiah 2, “…all the nations will stream to it…” Let us turn this prophetic word into a reality! Seek the Lord, not just “while He may be found…” (Is. 55:6) but also where He said He could be found! Let us prepare our hearts and the hearts of the nations to go up to Jerusalem! And when we arrive together, as Jew and Gentile [of the Nations], let us ask for God’s blessing and presence. He is what we ultimately need to radiate forth from the Holy city, for in that day, “He [will] teach us about His ways!”
Prayer for Day 29
God, make us clarion voices calling to the world, “come, let’s go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob!” We want and need You ruling from Jerusalem. Forgive us for running to other places except where You said You could be found. We want to prepare to welcome You back to where You said Your presence would dwell forever. And we don’t want to be the only ones waiting for You! Let our voices call to the nations to come and humble themselves. As more people begin to wake up to the importance of Your city, not just as a historical site but as a place for future history to be made, let us find You and Your presence there! We pray for the peace of Jerusalem! Thank You for building Jerusalem in our time! In the Name above all names, Amen.
