Jaden’s Miraculous Survival

Our family was driving the 2,500 miles road trip from our first BYNA leadership gathering in Eskdale, Utah on our way home to Moose Creek, Ontario, Canada. Part way through the journey we stopped in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to visit Melanie’s family.  On June 18th, 2024 I was sitting on the front porch at our in-laws in Milwaukee and I got an urgent call from my mother, crying on the phone and saying, “Pray for Jaden, he just fell at work and he’s being taken by helicopter ambulance to the hospital.  Pray that his life will be spared! And get as many people as you can praying for him!”

My nephew Jaden was 19 years old at the time, working as a framer on a new barn project.  He was about 27 to 30 ft up in the air as they were finishing putting up the trusses on the building. One wrong step resulted in a devastating fall.  A board wasn’t fastened properly and Jaden ended up crashing to the ground. He had a punctured lung, ten skull fractures, burst blood vessels in his left eye, a severely damaged ear and a broken collarbone, among other injuries.  When he was rushed by air ambulance to the hospital, they prepared him for emergency brain surgery.  Miraculously, he was awake as they performed procedures to repair his lungs and breathing.

Miracle after miracle took place as the people of Yah cried out to Him on behalf of Jaden! Family, church friends, our BYNA prayer family and many others were standing in the gap for Jaden.  He was kept awake every half hour, as his vitals were monitored, prepared for emergency brain surgery at any moment to reduce the swelling on the brain.  One hour goes by, 2 hours go by, and then 12 and 24 hours go by. No need for emergency brain surgery.  Jaden was so exhausted, not given the opportunity to sleep.  Excruciating pain was pulsating in his head.  Gradually, 30 minute monitoring checkups were increased to 1 hour, then 2 hours, then eventually to 4 hours.

Jaden trusted in God and kept encouraging those who came to visit him, and even witnessing to his medical staff about his love for God and His Son Jesus. Other miracles took place along the way to the point where Jaden was discharged and sent home after several weeks of hospitalization. All the doctors and medical staff were shocked and had no explanation for all of the miracles!

Two years later, Jaden has returned to an active lifestyle as a young adult, returning back to work, going to the gym, and even enjoying snowboarding. His life was miraculously spared that day on June 18th, 2024.

Last week I sat down with Jaden for an impromptu interview. In that conversation, Jaden shared with me some details I did not know. We invite you to watch them in this four-part interview:

Part 1: Jaden’s injury, miraculous survival & hospitalization (7:30 min)

Part 2: Jaden’s Miraculous recovery in the hospital (8:32 min)

Part 3: Jaden’s night of fear and praying the prayer of trust (10:11 min)

Part 4: Jaden coping with headaches and returning back to construction work (7:40 min)
