Another Step Toward Reconciliation:
Honorary Judea & Samaria Citizenship Offered to Israel’s Allies

For ten years, the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast has been bringing influential Jewish and Christian leaders together in God’s Holy City to pray for its peace. This year, the partnership between these two halves of God’s Covenant people reached a new level with the announcement of a program to offer honorary citizenship in Judea and Samaria to Christian Zionists.
Governors Yisrael Ganz of Judea and Yossi Dagan of Samaria jointly announced this honorary program at the Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 28. As Governor Dagan explained, the symbolic gesture was inspired by the proposal by Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire of Paris to grant honorary citizenship to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. If such a gesture could be made to those who oppose the presence of Jews in their ancient indigenous land, then why not extend the same kind of honor to Christian Zionists and others who support Israel’s right to exist and the right of Jews to live in their homeland?
That same day, Rabbi Tuly Weisz of Israel365, in coordination with Governors Ganz and Dagan, announced the establishment of an application process for those interested in taking advantage of the honorary citizenship offer. The application is available through Israel365Action at the following link:

This is a purely symbolic gesture not officially sanctioned by the Government of Israel, but it is a groundbreaking development in Jewish-Christian relations. For the first time, Jewish organizations and leaders are recognizing non-Jewish allies as having a part in the survival, growth, and prosperity of the Jewish State and the Jewish people. As Rabbi Weisz explained in his remarks, the extension of honorary citizenship is not only a recognition of these important allies, but an invitation for them to become involved in greater ways. In other words, with the honorary status comes responsibility to take action as honorary citizens of the Biblical Heartland.
Although it’s still uncertain what this honorary citizenship means, both in practical terms and in spiritual implications, there is no question that it is of prophetic significance. As representatives of the House of Joseph in North America, BYNA looks on this as another step in the reconciliation of Judah and Joseph. Others might see in it another level of the fulfillment of prophecies about the nations bringing the Jewish people home and helping them prosper in their Promised Land. We will not know the full extent of the prophetic implications for some time, but we can be certain that it is a major development in the preparations for Messiah’s coming in power and great glory.
