We have our standards of what we consider to be “polite conversation.” For example, talking openly about sex is generally frowned upon; and for good reason. These things are meant to be kept privately. However, there are no secrets from Almighty God. We know he sees all. He knows our inmost thoughts, our every word and act. We cannot hide these things from Him. Indeed, we cannot hide anything from Him. Not repenting because we somehow think it is a secret and we can keep it hidden – this will lead to the “fruit of an unrepentant heart.”
“Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body [is] not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body… Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.” (1 Corinthians 6:13, 18, NKJV)
Get real with the Lord about the things you have convinced yourself are hidden.
Confess, repent, and be free.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; renew in me a resolute spirit.” (Psalm 51:10, CJB)
